The Importance of Consistent Effort in Reaching Your Goals.

You know that activity, study, exercise, training, prayer, manifestation, affirmation work that you’re doing?

Do you ever feel like you’re not getting the results from it that you’d like?

Most likely, you’re not giving it enough time, consistently doing it correctly, to see/ realize the progress.

This is Gus and he’s a yearling stud colt.

Every day I catch and handle him, pick up feet, etc., after feeding.

His sticky spot has been leading so we’ve been working on it: Moving out smoothly, not pulling, responding softly, moving through gates, not spooking, walking through deep snow, around cattle, around the skid steer, etc.

Basically what looks like “just leading” on the outside.

Sounds simple right?

For a colt who has never been exposed to any of these things before, every step is a learning experience.

For the last month, we have been consistent, every day.

Doing a short 5-15 minute session, and stopping on a good note. Releasing the pressure, face rubs, and letting him go.

Yesterday, after a month, he did it! All of it! Just like a grown up!

What seemed like he got it “all of a sudden” was really a culmination of weeks of consistent work.

You may say, well of course! That’s horse training 101! Especially with young ones!

Duh!

Well guess what?!

You and I are no different!

Stop expecting your results to come on day 1, 10 or 30!

As long as you are consistently doing the right steps to achieve your results… you will get there!

Stay the course!

Ask for help!

Find strong accountability!

Celebrate your small wins along the way!

Keep going!

Often our progress is halted because we fail to notice the incremental progress.

We instead only focus on the end goal.
