The Importance of Moments for Yourself

Where do you find moments of peace?
 
How do you fill your cup?
 
What do you do, or not do, to feel the stillness and quiet needed to refocus?
 
Our world and every day are filled with so much *noise*!
 
Literally and figuratively.
 
Give yourself the gift of stillness, unplugged quiet and peace today.
 
And resist the urge to fill the space with other noise.
 
Are you uncomfortable sitting with yourself in the quiet?
 
This is a sign that you need to do it more.
 
I get it.
 
There was a time in my life in which I would not let myself sit still or be in silence with my own thoughts and feelings.
 
It hurt too much.
 
The only way to heal is to let yourself feel the discomfort and work through it.
 
How?
 
Here are a few ways that work for me:
 
> Journaling: freely write anything that that comes to mind. Let if flow, let tears or laughter flow (or both), no limits or guides on what is ok. Just write/ draw, scribble.
> Pray: to yourself or out loud. Speaking it out loud often helps your mind focus and express it more effectively. It becomes more real.
> EFT Tapping. If you’ve never done it, you’ll be amazed at how powerful it is. Comment or DM if you want the link to my favorite free app to guide you.
> Deep breathing. Many types but I like the Inhale through your nose 4 long seconds, hold 2 seconds, exhale 6 long seconds through your mouth and then hold 2 seconds. Repeat. DM if you want more details.
> Get on a horse and ride. Or other activity that is totally unplugged and requires full concentration.
